Navajo Nation, Window Rock 2011

Our mission team went to Window Rock, AZ, on Friday, October 7th. The team was headed up by Pastor Larry & Susan Lane and their two grandsons Kaden and Kylor Dunlap, Brian & Becky Claassen and their children Caleb and Abi, Jon Montez, and Corey Mulligan.

They cut wood for the elderly of the Navajo Nation. The firewood is used to heat the homes of the elderly. This is their only means of heat during the winter months. Each day they cut and loaded trailers with wood for delivery.

They also repaired the pipes and floor in the Sunday School building. The pipes froze this past winter and left substantial damage to the floor.

Bella Vista Elementary School August 2011

This year our Vacation Bible School (VBS) chose as their missions to collect school items for the Bella Vista Elementary School. The collection is done by the children who attend VBS.

The children did a wonderful job of collecting school items, such as pencils, crayons, glue, paper and ect.

Pastor Larry and our new mission chairperson Kimberle took all the school items collected and presented them to the children of the school and Kelly Segal (Principal).

The children were thrilled with their new school items!

Dillingham, Alaska July 2011

We had a team of 12 members: Larry & Susan, Brian & Kristen and three of their sons Brian, Caleb and Benjamin, Anna Marie, Catherine, Teri, Raylene and Lisa. We arrived in Dillingham, Alaska to several days of rain. However the team prayed for sunny days and the Lord provided.
So we got to start working on the parsonage! We started with the house pad and forms.
Once the forms were completed, the concrete was poured, using wheelbarrows!

The team worked together and got it done!

Even though the work was hard and nonstop. Pastor Larry got an opportunity to share the Gospel and pray with Sierra a 13 year old native of Dillingham.

The stem wall went up, black sticky weather proofing, center beams, joust, floor boards and the walls.

We were blessed with several days of sunshine so that the work was able to be completed.

Wednesday evenings we spent at an Assistant Living Facility which members of the church referred to lovingly as "Grandma's House". Several members of the church visit, sing praise songs and listen to a message from Pastor Rob. It is such a wonderful experience and we all cherish it.

Dillingham Bible Fellowship Church is lead by Pastor Rob and his wife Dana. They are very happy with the prospect of their home being built.

This church is full of loving, caring and faithful people who are reaching out to their community to share the Gospel. Please continue to pray for them.

April Cake Auction!

Our cake auction was a huge success!

Our annual cake auction was held in April to raise money for our trip to Dillingham, Alaska. Our mission team is heading to Dillingham to build a parsonage for Pastor Rob and his wife Dana.

The money raised will be used for supplies to help build the parsonage.

Tony Hubble was the auctioneer and he got the bidding rolling. There was several tables full of a wide display of beautiful cakes, cupcakes, pies and cookies.

Everyone enjoyed the laughter, fun, fellowship and the ability to give to promote the Lord's work.

All who attended went home with a delicious dessert.
