Patagonia Prayer Walk

Patagonia is 40-plus miles from Sierra Vista and has a population of 1,665. Of that population, religious practices differ greatly. Although 50 percent of the population consider themselves a spiritual person and 40 percent identifies themselves as Evangelicals, only 16 percent say that church is important to them. Along with the evangelical presence, the New Age Movement has a strong presence that teaches “divine strategy of grace”, “the awakening of the divine force”, and “there are many paths to enlightenment.”

The Next Generation Southern Baptist Church, which was founded in 2010, has been “a voice of one calling in the desert”.  The church was begun by the Village Meadows Baptist Church is pastored by Todd Norton. Currently, the Next Generation Church, which meets in the 7th Day Adventist building. Sunday worship service are held at 11:00 am and Adult Bible and Youth Groups meet on Wednesdays at 7:00 pm. On the first Sunday of every month a community breakfast is served.

On March 31st, several members of our mission team gathered together in Patagonia. We walked through neighborhoods, around businesses and prayed for the people there and for God to be alive in this town.

Please continue to pray for Pastor Todd & Star Norton and for the growth of their church.
