Navajo Nation, Window Rock 2010

October 1st we headed to Window Rock, our team consisted of Pastor Larry & Susan Lane, Anna Marie Curtis, David Pray, Brian Claassen and Scott Hill.

On the drive we stopped at Cat Walk, NM. A beautiful place to take a hike and enjoy the beauty of God's creation.

We started work right away cutting fire wood for the elderly of the Navajo Nation. We spent our days in the woods, looking for dead trees to cut. We loaded our trailers and delivered wood to the ones who needed it.

Scott and David sawing trees.

Brian sawing a tree down.

Filling the trailer with the cut wood.

On our last day there we took a trip to Canyon de Chey. This is Spider Rock.

This is ruins that are down at the bottom of the canyon.

This canyon is an example of the awesome God that we have. He surrounds us with his creative beauty.

Prescott Pines Camp

We went to Prescott Pines Camp in August. We had a team of six members and we spent 4 days there working in the camp.

The camp was damaged by weather this past year and our team was there in April helping repair some of the damage. We had to return because it is a joy working with the wondeful staff there. One of the main projects that was under construction was their kitchen and dining room. It was damaged by a tree that fell on it. Here is a picture of the new kitchen and dining room. We enjoyed all the delicous food they prepared for us.

Shari and Anna Marie had the job of painting the frontier town. They took on the project and worked hard to restore the town.

Pastor Larry, Susan, Alana and Lisa took on the task to add a some rows of logs to a log cabin fort that they are building for a bridge. We cut down trees, moved the trees and cut them to make them the perfect size for the fort. We had the use of a John Deere which was indespensible to our work.

Pastor Larry knows how to get the job done and be resourceful!

This is the fort. We were able to complete one and a half rows.

While there we went to the town of Prescott to do some site seeing and shopping!

VBS at the Cowboy Church, Powell, Wyoming

Heading to Powell, Wyoming!

On July 2nd we loaded up for a road trip to Powell, Wyoming. We didn't get very far before a tire blew on our trailer! After a short detour and a new tire we were on our way to help the Heart Mountain Cowboy Church with their first Vacation Bible School. Pastor Michael & Leah McKnight head up the cowboy church.

This is the barn the Cowboy Church meets in and where we held their VBS. Team members are hanging up a mural as part of the decorations.

After decorating the barn and making sure the horses were all in their stables we prayed for the children that would be coming to VBS. Horses were made with love by Shari Hermes.

VBS was scheduled for all week. Monday, came and no children arrived. We did not give up hope, we prayed. Tuesday, still no children arrived so we spent the afternoon walking through neighborhoods. We hanged door hangers with invitations on over 200 doors. We tried not to get discouraged. We knew the Lord had a plan and we were there for a reason.

Wednesday came and so did the children!

This is Anna Marie in Mission FireFly Cavern. She taught the children about missions.

The children are getting their horses ready to do a barrel race!

Pastor Lary is engaged in a cowboy conversation with a little boy.

Pastor Michael presenting the Gospel to the two older children. Praise the Lord! They both accepted Christ!

It was a wonderful week with the children and their families. There is nothing better than to be able to teach about our Lord and to watch a child's heart come alive. As always we always get so much more out of than what we put into it.

Before leaving Wyoming, we got the chance to visit Yellowstone National Park. Pastor Jim was our tourguide and he did a wonderful job! We all enjoyed seeing God's creation.

Here is one of God's creation. We got the unique opportunity to see a bison close up! As you see Pastor Jim in the picture, you can see just how close we were. It was amazing!

Here is Ol' Faithful. It stays true to it's name. What an awesome sight and only the Lord could have created this marvel.

Prescott Pines, AZ

In March a group of us went to a camp in Prescott Pines, AZ to help repair damages that were substained earlier in the year by the weather.

We cut down trees that were in danger of fallen on the buildings, repaired roofs, and served where ever needed.
